The verdict in the much disputed Barguna Rifat Sharif murder case of 10 adult defendants will be announced on Wednesday (September 30). However, Rifat’s wife and one of the defendants in the case Ayesha Siddique Minni have appeared in court first among the defendants. Minni, who is out on bail, appeared in court on a motorcycle with her father at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday. At the same time, some of Minni’s relatives also appeared on court premises.

Before entering court, Minni’s father, Mozammel Hossain Kishore, said the verdict in the Rifat murder case would be announced shortly. We hope that Minni will be acquitted in this case.

On January 1, the Barguna District and Session Court of Judges filed charges against 10 adult defendants in the Rifat murder case. The court then began taking testimony against 10 accused adults since January 8. A total of 8 witnesses have testified in the case. Musa, the seventh defendant in the case, continues to escape.

The adults charged in the Rifat murder case are: Rakibul Hasan Rifat Faraji, Al Qayyum aka Rabbi Akon, Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, Rezwan Ali Khan Hridoy aka Tiktak Hridoy, Md. Hasan, Md. Musa, Ayesha Siddique Minni, Rafiul Islam Rabbi, Md. Sagar and Kamrul Islam Simon.

On June 26, 2019, Rifat Sharif (25) was beaten to death in front of his wife in front of hundreds of people in front of Barguna Government College. Later, a video of Rifat being hacked to death went viral on Facebook.

The next day, Rifat’s father, Abdul Halim Dulal Sharif, filed a lawsuit against five or six other unidentified people, mentioning the names of 12 people. On September 1 of that year, the police charged 24 people and divided them into minors and minors. Of them, 10 adults and 14 minors were charged.
