The funeral prayers of Golam Sarwar Sayedee, director of Araibari Alia Madrasa in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria were held with the participation of thousands of people.
Janazah took place on Saturday (November 21) after Asr on the ground adjacent to Araibari Alia Madrasa. Golam Sobhan Sayedee, the eldest son of Golam Sarwar Sayedee, presided over the janaza.
At the beginning of the janaza, Anisul Haque, Member of Parliament and Law Minister of the Brahmanbaria-4 constituency (Kasba and Akhaura) expressed by phone his condolences on the death of Golam Sarwar Sayedee.
Golam Sarwar, 52, died early Saturday (November 21).
People began to come to the janaza field from noon to participate in their janaza. Unable to find a place in the field, many people participated in the janaza by staying in the area around the field.
Leading academics participated in the janaza, including Kasba Upazila Parishad President Rashedul Kausar Bhuiyan Jibon, Vice President Monir Hossain and Kasba Municipality Mayor Emran Uddin Jewel.
After Janaza, Golam Sarwar Sayedee was buried in the family cemetery adjacent to Araibari Madrasa.
