The Bangladesh Navy has stepped in to help the country’s firefighters when a devastating fire broke out at the Beirut port in Lebanon. The warship BNS Sangram stationed in the harbor has played an important role in controlling the fire today.

According to a source in the SNB’s fight, fire trucks from Lebanon came to put out the fire and got into a water crisis. Then the massive supply of water started from the BNS fight. This water is used to put out the fire. Almost everyone at different levels of the navy has extended a helping hand.

The source added that the fire broke out today near the site of the explosion in the port of Beirut last month. BNS Sangram was only 200 meters from there. The Navy ship with 110 people is stationed in the port of Beirut as part of the peacekeeping mission.

Bangladeshi expatriate journalist Babu Saha, who is about two kilometers from the scene, told The Daily Star that they learned that today’s fire started with a tire. At the time, Syrian workers were working in the port, but no Bangladeshi worker works inside the port. There were no Bangladeshis there.

The port of Beirut was shrouded in black smoke until the latest news was received at 8pm Bangladesh time. Fire fighting continued.
