Atiqul Islam, the mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), cleaned up the canal and landed on the canal so that everyone is aware of the canal’s rescue and recovery.
DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam visited the Godabari canal cleaning activities in Mirpur, the capital, on Wednesday. At one stage of the inspection, he himself went down the canal with the boat. He got on the boat and addressed the canal cleaning workers some 200 meters away. At this time he also participated with the cleaners working to clean the canal.

At that time, the mayor asked the locals not to dump used items and garbage into the canal. He also participated in cleaning with the instrument. He patted the cleaners on the back.

After cleaning the canal, Atiqul Islam told the media: “Is this canal for the dumping of garbage of the city dwellers or for the flow of water? Abroad, we see that the water is transported by canals. sewage will fall into this channel, rainwater will fall. Then it will go to the river. But we fill this channel with mattress, TV, fridge, pillow, coconut shell. So how will the channels work?
The mayor added: ‘I will tell the townspeople to come forward. Someone is responsible for a 100-yard gutter so no trash falls into the gutter on their part That part will not be busy. In this way the channel will not be occupied and the rescued channel will be clean.
