A 14-year-old girl from the Porjana Union in Shahjadpur Upazila of Sirajganj has been accused of gang-raping her every night for a month. It has been reported that he was tortured for fear of spreading the video on Facebook.
Villagers arrested rapist Yusuf Ali (18) involved in the incident on Wednesday afternoon and handed him over to the police. He is the son of Alhaj Ali from that town and a van driver by profession. The police are trying to arrest Jibon, 18, the son of Mintu Pramanik from the same village, and Faisal, 18, the son of Manik Hossain involved in the incident.
The mother of the raped girl said that Yusuf, Jiban and Faisal forcibly grabbed the girl from the road when she was going to school a month ago. After that, 3 people gang-raped him in a room in Faisal’s secluded home. At that time, Faisal recorded a video of the rape on Yusuf’s mobile phone.
After that, fearing to spread the video on Facebook, they forcibly called the girl every night for 3 months and began to rape her in turns. At around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, they tried to drag the girl back with the intention of raping her. At that moment, the people of the area rushed to hear the cry of the girl and arrested Yusuf. Sensing the presence of the people, Faisal and Jiban fled.
Shahjadpur Police Station SI Abul Hossain and SI Mehedi Hasan said the matter was being investigated. Furthermore, efforts are being made to arrest the other accused.
