However, the villagers did not take up their positions normally. As a result of his tenure, at least 30,000 people surrounded the village of Noapara at the Habibpur junction of Shalla upazila of Sunamganj. In his hands were sticks and clubs, Ramadan.
He is a resident of the town of Apan Noapara. The siege took place on Wednesday morning. Residents threatened not to leave the besieged village until they learned how Apan got to the post and who was behind it. Although at present the situation is calm.
According to locals, the leaders of Hifazat-e-Islam, including Mamunul Haque, spoke in front of thousands of people at the Dirai Shane Risalat conference in Sunamganj last Monday. On that basis, Jhumon Das Apan made a post from his Facebook ID mocking Allama Mamunul Haque. The locals turned him over to the police on Tuesday. When the news spread, thousands of people gathered in the village of Noapara.
Villagers claim that Hazur (Allama Mamunul Haque) has been mocked. Where did he get this courage and who is behind it? They will not leave the village under siege unless the police find them out and subject them to the law.
Faiz Uddin, a resident of Dirai Upazila, said he was unable to sleep all night after seeing the post on Facebook. I spent the night thinking about when it will be morning. If I give my life, I will give it; However, if someone says something obscene about religion, I will not let them go.
Speaking of the matter later, the police have been deployed to the scene and the situation is now calm, Sunamganj Police Superintendent Mizanur Rahman said.
