Mamun released from the Student Rights Council

Hassan Al MamunHassan Al Mamun, coordinator of the Council for the Protection of Student Rights, has been suspended from his organization. Hasan Al Mamun was released from his organization after a Dhaka University student brought a rape case against Mamun and four other activists.
A three-member committee has also been formed to investigate the incident. This was stated in a press release signed by Rashed Khan, joint coordinator of the Student Rights Council, on Wednesday evening (September 23).
On September 21 and 22, a student from Dhaka University filed two complaints with the Lalbagh and Kotwali Police Stations against four leaders and activists, including Hasan Al Mamun, the coordinator of the Student Rights Council. Since its inception, the Student Rights Council has played an active role in realizing the logical and just rights of students and the masses. The Student Rights Council has always played an active role in promoting discrimination, oppression, and women’s rights. Therefore, a three-member investigative committee has been formed to verify the veracity of the complaints filed against the leaders and workers of the organization and in the interests of fair and equitable justice. The committee members are Bin Yamin Mollah, chairman of the Student Rights Council of Dhaka University, Tareq Rahman, Joint Coordinator of the Central Council, and Rafia Sultana, another joint coordinator.
The committee has been directed to send details of the incident to the Central Executive Council within the next 48 hours. At the same time, in the interest of a fair and impartial investigation, Student Rights Council coordinator Hassan Al Mamun received a temporary resignation.
