The investigating officer in the case, Detective Branch (DB) Police Inspector Abu Siddique, also obtained permission from the court in this regard. The information has come to light from the charge sheet presented by the investigating officer in court.
On the charge sheet, the investigating officer stated: “We completed the HIV test of defendant Majnoor from Dhaka Medical College Hospital with the permission of the court and power of attorney to test whether the arrested defendant Majnoor has HIV in his body and after reviewing him , It has been seen”. After examining the defendant Majnu, he was of the opinion that the HIV antigen / antibody test result on the body of the defendant Majnu was negative, ie no HIV positive was found in the body of the defendant Majnu.
Judge Begum Mosammat Kamrunnahar of Dhaka’s 6th Court of Suppression of Abuse of Women and Children will announce the verdict in the case on Thursday.
Prosecutor Afroza Farhana Ahmed Orange confirmed the information to the media, saying: “The defendant in this case has confessed in court that Majnu was raped. The trial of the case has been completed in a very short time. We have wished the accused state life imprisonment.
On the other hand, Majnoor’s lawyer, Rabiul Islam, who was appointed by the state, told NTV Online: “The state has not been able to prove the charge sheet against Majnoor in this case.” Then you will be acquitted in this case.
The Dhaka University student was raped on January 5. Later, the student’s father became a plaintiff and filed a case with the Dhaka Cantonment Police Station under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Majnu at the Sheora bus stop below the Cantonment police station on January 8 in connection with the rape. On January 9, the court granted Majnoor’s remand. On January 16, Majnu confessed to being involved in the rape and testified in court. Majnu has been in jail ever since.
On March 16, Detective Division (DB) inspector Abu Siddique filed a charge sheet against Majnu at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Court. On the same day, the court ordered that the case be transferred to the Tribunal for the Repression of Women and Children for trial. On August 26, the court brought charges against Majnoor in the case and ordered the trial to begin. After hearing the case for a long time, the court set November 19 to announce the verdict of the case on November 12.
