Kushtia Mirpur Upazila Poradaha Union Madrasa Super 8th grade student has been raped. Protesting the incident, agitated locals surrounded and trashed the madrasa.
When a rape case was filed at Mirpur Police Station, the head of the madrasa, Maulana Abdul Quader, fled. Subsequently, several police teams raided and arrested him in Mirpur on Monday night.
Locals allege that Maulana Abdul Quader, principal of the Sirajul Uloom Maryam Nesa Madrasa at Poradaha Union, had been sexually abusing an eighth grade student for some time. The news spread in the area after the student informed one of his classmates about the matter on Monday. Then the mob attacked the madrassa. They vandalized the madrasa. The student’s locals and classmates have demanded exemplary punishment for Abdul Quader involved in the incident.
Students and parents have threatened to leave the madrasa if Abdul Quader does not receive exemplary punishment. The madrasa student’s father wants severe punishment in this incident. Representatives of the local population have also demanded the main punishment of the madrasa
Kushtia Additional Police Superintendent Atiqur Rahman said the girl was rescued and sent to Kushtia General Hospital for a medical examination. The girl’s father has filed a rape case at Mirpur Police Station. After the matter came to light, the accused madrasa head, Abdul Quader, fled to avoid arrest. Several teams of police officers raided and arrested him. If someone else is involved in this heinous incident, they will also be subject to the law, the police officer said.
