Madrasa general teachers say they have been disenfranchised in the November 23 amendment to policy MPO-2018. These madrasa teachers want to be appointed to administrative positions protesting this and demanding that the published amendments be reconsidered.

The demand was made by the Bangladesh Madrasah General Teachers Association at a press conference held in the Maulana Akram Khan Hall of the National Press Club in the capital at 11:30 am on Monday. General teachers in madrasas refer to teachers who teach subjects like Bengali, English, and science outside of religious and Arabic subjects.

The general secretary of the Bangladesh Madrasa General Teachers Association read a written statement at the press conference. Delwar Hossain. He made five demands on behalf of the organization. The demands are to modify the workforce structure and the policy of the Madrasa-2018 MPO by modifying the educational qualifications and experience of candidates for administrative positions (principal, deputy principal, super, co-super) of all levels of the madrasah. Maintain the position, retain the position of Lecturer (Mathematics), have the opportunity to be promoted to the position of Assistant Professor and Professor in phases that include promotion to the position of Lecturer Assistant Professor and have the opportunity to apply as a General Candidate for the position Librarian and Co-Librarian.
