Then, in the last five decades, it expanded its business in various sectors, including housing, import-export, particle board, steel, plastics, consumer goods, bank insurance. More than 60 companies employed by this businessman and workforce employ millions of people.
He also made important contributions to banking, insurance, and education. He was president of the North South University Trust. In this way, the light of education has spread among thousands of students. He started various financial aids, including a stipend in his organization. MA Hashem was once on the board of directors of Citibank Limited and United Commercial Bank. He also created the Janata Insurance Company.
Partex Group is one of the largest industrial groups in the country. Products produced by companies created to meet the country’s demand are exported to different countries around the world. It has changed businesses in recent years. Amber Group was established separately from Partex Group and Partex Star Group. There are more than 60 companies in these groups. He handed over responsibility for all organizations to the boys.
MA Hashem has five sons. The eldest son, Aziz Al Qaiser, is vice president of Tito Partex Star Group and president of Citibank. The second son, Aziz Al Mahmoud Mithu, is the managing director of Partex Star Group and president of IDLC Finance.
His two sons Aziz Al Masood and Ashfaq Aziz Rubel are in charge of different companies of the Partex Group. And Shawkat Aziz Russell is looking at Amber Group. MA Hashem’s wife, Sultana Hashem, and his daughters-in-law are also on the board of directors of these companies.
MA Hashem was elected a Member of Parliament from Begumganj in Noakhali in the 2001 national elections as a candidate for BNP. Then he became inactive in politics and concentrated on business. The last time BNP announced its departure was in 2016.
MA Hashem was in the hospital for life support after contracting the coronavirus (Covid-19). He was admitted to the hospital on December 11 after Corona tested positive. When his condition deteriorated, he was taken to life support on December 16.
