A young man named Zahid developed a love story with his friend’s wife. At one stage, he also divorced his wife with a friend. He then introduced his wife to his friend’s wife and began living in a rented house in Manikganj. After a while, the relationship between them deteriorated due to talking on the phone. After killing Zahid by wrapping his girlfriend in a scarf, he fled leaving her body in the Kaliganga River in the Beutha area of the Manikganj district.
Police recovered the floating body of the woman in the incident on May 31 this year. Once the body was recovered, the autopsy report revealed that he had been strangled to death. At first a case of unnatural death was filed, but then a case was filed against unknown persons. A few days later, the identity of the woman as a couple was identified. She lived with her husband in the Birulia de Savar area of Dhaka. Then the mystery of the murder in the operation carried out from the woman’s mobile phone came to light. Additional SP Bhaskar Saha of Manikganj Sadar Circle confirmed the matter on Wednesday afternoon.
Additional SP Bhaskar Saha said that the defendant Mizanur Rahman, alias Zahid, had an affair with the wife of a friend, Roxana Akhter Sathi, in Dhaka, and left his wife and children at his village house in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj. Fellow is the daughter of Abdul Khaleq of Fulbaria, Mymensingh. Then Zahid divorced them. Later, he identified his wife as his wife and rented houses in different areas of Manikganj city. At one point, Zahid got into a fight with his partner for talking on his cell phone. On May 30, he went for a walk along the Kaliganga River in the Beutha area of Manikganj city with his girlfriend. During a walk, he wrapped a scarf around his lover’s neck, killed her, threw her body into the river and fled.
Zahid then gave the mobile phone his partner was using to his wife to use. Sadar police arrested Zahid de Birulia in Savar on October 12 on the basis of the mobile phone. He later confessed to killing his partner in Manikganj court on October 13 under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Additional SP further said that Zahid planned the murder by watching TV series like ‘Crime Patrol’. He also said that he had learned of the precautionary measures taken during the murder by looking at the crime patrol. Before the murder, the accused turned off the mobile phone used by the victim and was also aware that there were no stains at the time of the murder.
