Liton Sikder, charged in several cases including fraud, extortion and digital security law, was arrested in a rented house in the district’s Bhanga upazila on Monday morning.
Based on secret information, RAB members led by Debashish Karmakar, commander of RAB-7 Faridpur camp, carried out an operation and arrested Liton Sikder. There are multiple arrest warrants against him in fraud and extortion cases. In these cases, it was hidden for a long time. In Faridpur, Khulna, Pabna and Dhaka districts, there are around a dozen cases against him under the Fraud, Extortion and Digital Security Act.
He was arrested after reviewing various media reports and allegations of fraud, extortion and complaints against the victims of Alfadanga Upazila in Faridpur. According to the RAB, a case was filed against him under the Digital Security Act at the DMP Kalabagan Police Station on September 29. The CID is currently investigating the case. Liton Sikder has been turned over to the CID as a defendant in the case.
The home of the arrested Liton Sikder is in the village of Char Azampur of the Togarband union of Alfadanga upazila of Faridpur. His father’s name is Siddique Sikder.
