The normalization of relations between Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates with Zionist Israel has created complications for the presidency of the Arab League.

Libya has refused to take over the presidency of the Arab League after Palestine, Qatar and Kuwait.

According to the Iranian press, Libya was offered the position after Qatar and Kuwait. But the UN-backed government of Libya rejected the offer.

Palestine recently made a proposal at an Arab League meeting to condemn the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain for normalizing relations with Israel. But she did not accept the offer.

Palestine would become the interim president of the Arab League. The Palestinian Authority refused to accept the presidency of the Arab League on September 22 in protest at the normalization of relations between the two Arab states and Israel.

Qatar, Kuwait and Libya were then offered the league presidency. But Qatar and Kuwait rejected the presidency of the Arab League because of the Palestinian refusal.
