On Wednesday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that if local train and subway services were introduced in Bengal step by step, the state government would have no objection. The Chief Minister even lifted the ban on flights to and from the six cities on July 8 for fear of a corona infection, following a cabinet meeting on Wednesday. She said that flights from these six cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Chennai and Ahmedabad – could fly to Kolkata three days a week starting on September 1.

Interior Ministry officials have almost finished the job of coming up with new guidelines for that.
