A legal notice has been sent to the government to cancel the quota for women and pets in the appointment of assistant teachers in government elementary schools and to reissue the notice by omitting the previous notice.
On Sunday (October 25) evening, the candidate for the position of joint convenor and assistant professor of the Student Rights Council. The Supreme Court attorney, Eklach Uddin Bhuiyan, sent the notice on behalf of Tareq Rahman by post.
The lawyer himself confirmed to Jago News that the notice was sent on Monday.
The Cabinet Secretary, the Secretary of the Ministry of Education and the Superior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works and the Director General (DG) of the Department of Primary Education have been named as defendants in the notification.
If the matter is not resolved within 24 hours of receiving the notice, a petition for an injunction in the public interest will be filed in the High Court, said Eklas Uddin Bhuiyan, the lawyer who issued the notice.
The lawyer said: ‘Our students have been protesting against the cancellation of the government service fee. In this context, the Prime Minister announced that there are no quotas in Parliament. But recently, in hiring primary school teachers, it has been mentioned that the quota for women is 60 percent and 20 percent for pets. And the remaining 20 percent is for the general public. Said as a candidate. Tareq Rahman is upset.
She said: ‘It has been seen that 80 per cent of women have been mentioned in the primary teacher hiring notice. 20 percent pet fee. I think it would be discriminatory to keep the quota system there. Because where all ordinary students are supposed to be 80 percent, others will be deprived even if there is no quota of freedom fighters.
Co-convenor of the Student Rights Council. Quoting Tareq Rahman, the attorney further stated: “After having 60% female and 20% pet share in this recruitment, only 20% is for children. Therefore, a huge population is being deprived. I think it has created inequality. That is why I have taken refuge in the law.
