ATM Maksudul Haque Emu, the son of a freedom fighter and media worker, sent a legal notice to filmmaker Delwar Jahan Jhantu alleging distortion of the history of the liberation war. He claimed that the history of the liberation war has been distorted in the film ‘Bir Sainik’ directed by Jhantu.
Emu alleged that the promotion and screening of the film had been suspended by all means, adding that the name of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is not mentioned anywhere in the film and that Major Ziaur Rahman had declared his independence.
Not only that, March 7 is not mentioned in this movie based on the liberation war. The film has been released on SS Multimedia YouTube. When the actor talks about March 7 in the movie, some parts were cut right there, which is clearly visible and motivated. ”
Emu questioned the accusation, saying, “Didn’t March 7, 1971 have any meaning? Or did March 7 suddenly come without March 7? The most distorted and ugly scene in this movie is when an actor tells him to the hero Manna in one place: “Our Bengali commander Ziaur Rahman has declared his independence on Chittagong Radio.” This means that the director means: ‘Zia, the herald of freedom!’ Isn’t that a distortion of history ? “
The story, dialogue, and script of the film is by Delwar Jahan Jhantu. The image was uploaded last year to a channel called Lava Movies. The film was released in 2003 during the BNP government.
Emu also met with MN Ispahani, director of SS Multimedia, a filmmaker and producer, and asked him to remove the controversial part of the film and repost it on YouTube. But it was not done. The son of this freedom fighter thinks that the young generation, including the future generation, will be very confused by this confusing part of the film.
Delwar Jahan Jhantu was contacted through his mobile phone, but could not be reached.
