Lawyers are protesting in Dhaka’s Metropolitan Chief Magistrate’s Court (CMM) over the arrest of a lawyer without a hearing. In this case, the trial is temporarily closed.

The lawyers allege, yesterday morning CMM court judge. Lawyer Rubel Ahmed went to the Asaduzzaman Noor court to archive the case. First, Peshkar said, the court will meet around 10:30 in the morning. But the court did not start at that time. If the court does not meet by 11 am, the attorney wants to know the time.

After some time, the court sat down. At the beginning of the processing of the case, the judge accused the lawyer of creating chaos and said that the hearing would be held later. The police then detained the lawyer for two hours.

Lawyers have been protesting at the CMM court premises since this morning demanding the removal of the judge and the protest centered on the incident. They said it was unacceptable for a lawyer to be detained for two hours without hearing his case. Such incidents will disrupt court proceedings.

Meanwhile, the lawyers said they would continue to protest until the incident is resolved.
