The ongoing Corona epidemic has had a devastating effect on the world. But the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that this is not the end of the story. The organization asked the world to be more sincere in preparing to face it.

The Corona epidemic has so far killed around 1.7 million people worldwide and affected more than 80 million. News from The Guardian.

The current epidemic is a warning, Michael Ryan, the UN’s emergency chief, told reporters on Monday, a year after the agency learned of the coronavirus outbreak in China. He acknowledged that the epidemic was “very serious.” It has spread around the world very quickly. But this is not necessarily the end.

Michael Ryan stressed that the current virus is highly contagious and many people die from it. But the death rate from this virus is reasonably low compared to other diseases to come.

“We need to be prepared to face more serious situations in the future,” Ryan said.

Bruce Illward, a senior adviser to the WHO, warns that the world has made important scientific advances in addressing the Corona crisis. It has also created vaccines at record speeds. But this progress is still too small to prevent future epidemics.

However, the agency’s director, Tedros Adhanam Gabriasis, expressed hope that the current epidemic will help us prepare for future threats. However, he asked that the issue be given real importance.
