The president of the UGC also emphasized increasing the capacity of the registrars of public universities.

In the first phase, UGC signed annual performance agreements (APAs) with 15 universities on Sunday. The secretary of the commission (additional responsibilities) and the registrars of the universities sign the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.

The agreement will be signed with the remaining 31 public universities on September 14 and 15, the commission said in a press release.

In addition to finalizing the APA agreement for the current financial year, the UGC held an APA evaluation meeting for the final financial year in the commission auditorium.

Speaking on the virtual platform, Professor Shahidullah said that the UGC was working towards the general advancement of higher education, transparency, greater accountability, fostering results-oriented activities and performance evaluation.
