A DRI director, Krunal Pandya, was detained at Mumbai International Airport on suspicion of possession of gold and valuables while returning from the United Arab Emirates, a source from the Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) said.
Krunal was returning home with the Mumbai team. But he was stopped upon landing at Mumbai International Airport. After that, he was questioned separately by officials from the Department of Revenue Intelligence.
According to the latest news, it couldn’t be done without Krunal. You were asked to show valid documents. As a general rule, male passengers can carry a maximum of 20 grams of gold on their way back to India from Dubai. In the case of women, the amount of gold is 40 grams. Krunal took more than the prescribed amount of gold from Dubai.
Krunal is an important member of the Mumbai team. He has played 10 games in the recently concluded IPL and scored 109 runs with the bat. He took six wickets with the ball. He has played 18 Twenty20 internationals for India.
