The ICC has published a list of cricketers nominated for the Decade of the Year award. This decade will see the best boys and girls cricketers, the best boys and girls test cricketers, the best boys and girls cricketers in ODI and T20, the best boys and girls cricketers in allied countries and ICC’s cricket spirit for decades. The ICC will also announce the best XI for boys and girls of the decade. However, in the case of individual awards, the ICCE will select the XI even if supporters have the opportunity to vote.
The captain of India, Virat Kohli, has won awards in all categories on the list of awards for full member countries. In addition, 6 people have been nominated in two different categories. In the girls category, two Australians, Meg Lenning and Alice Perry, have been nominated in all three categories.
The performance of cricketers who have played for at least 5 years from January 1, 2011 to October 6, 2020 has been taken into account. An ICC committee has finalized the list of preliminary nominees. The final decision will be made by a larger committee, with the support of the fans. The votes of the supporters will be 10 percent, the remaining 90 percent will be chosen by the ICC jury.
“Nominations have been made in each category based on performance on the field, impact on the game and overall achievements over the past decade,” the ICC said.
