Kisan-Suryakumar-Tewatia
Ishan Kisan was called up to India’s T20 squad for the first time after playing a 183 inning with 94 balls on Marquette in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Suryakumar Yadav and Rahul Teatia have also been named to the 19-member squad for the five-game Twenty20 series against England at home.
Manish Pandey, Sanju Samson and Mayank Agarwal have been excluded from the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy due to injuries. Experienced pacemaker Jaspreet Bumrah is also out of the squad for the T20 series against England. However, for the first time since 2016, Akshar Patel has returned to white ball cricket.
Fast pitcher Bhubaneswar Kumar, who was injured in the 2020 IPL, has returned to the team in top form. Co-captain Rohit Sharma and leg thrower Varun Chakraborty have also returned. All three were unable to go to Australia due to injuries.
The five-game T20 series between India and England will begin on March 12. The next four games are on March 14, 16, 17 and 20. All matches will be in Ahmedabad.
