North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is making international headlines amid the worldwide epidemic of Corona. However, it is not a threat to him, but where he is now, dead or alive, all speculation is happening on the current news. Even in the midst of the Corona crisis, the international media pages are filled with numerous reports and analyzes about him. This time along with Kim Un, sister Kim Yoo Jong is also in the headlines.
Whether it’s a missile test ignoring Brother Kim Un’s sanctions or extending a friendly hand to the United States, all he has done so far has been news to come. Right now, the eyes of the entire world are on her sister Kim Yoo, as the news of Kim’s physical condition has taken place. Meanwhile, there has been much speculation in diplomatic circles about the possibility of Yor’s promotion as his brother’s successor.
Kim Jong Un has not been seen in public since the start of the Corona crisis in the middle of this month. He was not seen at his grandfather Kim Il Sung’s birthday party. Speculation began as to the reason for his absence. Later, a South Korean outlet reported that Kim was in critical condition after undergoing heart surgery. Once again, a television in Hong Kong broadcast the news of his death. However, on April 25, a South Korean news agency reported that Kim was healthy and well.
However, the North Korean authorities have neither denied nor acknowledged the allegations. As a result, the stems of speculation are only spreading. And in the meantime, many have started gambling on their sister Kim Yoo Jung as Kim’s successor.
Kim Yeo, a 32-year-old member of the First Family of North Korea, recently entered active politics. It has been seen on camera only a few times in the past two years.
Notably, he joined the Workers’ Party central committee meeting as his brother’s “chief of staff”. He went to Seoul in 2016 to represent Pyongyang at the Winter Olympics.
And this April, Kim Yoo joined the party’s Central Committee Political Bureau as an additional member. Yor played a key role in forging an alliance with the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Diplomats, however, claim that Kim Yoo has sufficient authority within the party, despite his late entry into active politics. Whether he relays the brother’s message to team members or any important team decision, Kim Yor has an important role to play.
The late North Korean leader Kim Jong Il had more confidence in his daughter’s intelligence than in his son, according to US diplomat Michael Madden. She then turned her daughter over to Kim Ki Naam, known as the country’s ‘Chanakya’, for teaching politics in her teens.
But since World War II, when the Korean peninsula split in two, the Kim dynasty has ruled North Korea for generations. Kim Jong Il’s son Kim Jong Il came to power after Kim Il Sung.
After his death in 2011, Kim Jong Un took over the reins of the government. In other words, male members of the Kim family have ruled North Korea for three generations.
Although the country’s constitution speaks of women’s equality, the country’s social system is still controlled by men. In that case, there are doubts among diplomats about whether a woman will accept the leadership of a member.
Kim Jong Un’s grandfather, Kim Jong Un, has always stayed away from politics. He has been busy in music. Young Hor, a former North Korean ambassador to England, says he is unwilling to get involved in politics in the future.
Another sister, Kim Jong Un, played a key role in promoting government policy, but did not have the necessary political training to run the government. Kim Jong Un’s uncle Kim Kyung Hui once played an important role in the country’s politics. However, Hui has been in hiding since her husband, Zheng Song Tek, was executed in 2013 on charges of abuse of power and conspiracy to destabilize the regime. It appeared in public only once earlier this year.
In 2009, Kim Jong Un married Ree Soul Jur. According to the South Korean National Intelligence Service, Kim Jong Un has three children. The oldest son is 10 years old. Kim’s youngest son was born in 2016. None of them deserve to be in power right now. In that case, as long as they are not adults, someone can be appointed as their political guardian. On his behalf, he can govern a “provisional government” made up of the country’s top political leaders.
If anyone involved in active politics in the moment after Kim Jong Un has a direct blood relationship with Kim Il Sung, it is Kim Yoo Jung. Most North Koreans, who believe in familism, want someone to guide them. So if something happens to brother Kim Un, the country’s ruler can go to Kim Yoo. And if that happens, for the first time a woman will take the helm of a mysterious country like North Korea.
