Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir entered the home of President ‘Firoza’ in Gulshan after 9 p.m. yesterday. The two BNP leaders had private conversations for a quarter of an hour. Later, the BNP general secretary got out in his car and went home. Mirza Fakhrul did not agree to speak to the media about meeting Khaleda Zia. In confirming the secretary-general’s meeting with the president, several senior party leaders said the president had called the secretary-general. He met and discussed various topics.

On March 25, the government released Khaleda Zia after suspending her sentence for six months. After his release, the former prime minister moved from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital to a rented house in Gulshan. Since then, he has been at home on the advice of doctors.
Security guards at Firoza’s door said that people’s access to the house was strictly controlled. Only members of the medical team and some close relatives have access. According to a source, Khaleda Zia asked about the party’s activities in Corona’s current situation. Fakhrul briefed him on various programs, including BNP aid activities.
