The director of ACC (Public Relations), Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, said that other goods, such as a gasoline pump and a house in Moksedpur, Gopalganj, the village house of Kazi Anis, who was sitting in the office secretary’s chair from the former Juba League committee, were also confiscated from the computer operator.

During the RAB operation in September last year, information emerged about the involvement of Juba League leaders in the casino business at various sports clubs in Dhaka. Several front-line leaders of the Juba League were arrested for various irregularities, including casinos. At that time, when the media learned that Kazi Anis owned huge assets in just a few years, the leader of the Juba League covered his body. Later, on October 11, the Juba League expelled him.

A couple of weeks later, on October 29 last year, the ACC filed a separate case against Kazi Anis and his wife Sumi Rahman. In the case against Anis, it was alleged that he possessed assets of Taka 126 million outside of the reported income from the “casino business”.

Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said that a Dhaka court had recently ordered the confiscation of Kazi Anis’ assets in response to a request filed by ACC Deputy Director Gulshan Anwar Pradhan, the investigating officer on the case.

An ACC official told bdnews24.com that the commission’s investigation had found a five-story house belonging to Anis in Kalabagan, the capital. In addition, its two floors have been found in Dhanmondi and Wari, three stores in Multiplan Market on Elephant Road and two stores in a market in the Gulshan-2 area of 13 square feet of retail space.
