The parents were married in front of a nine-year-old boy outside the Rajshahi Central Jail. The marriage ceremony was held at the Central Jail Chief Superintendent’s office on Saturday afternoon.

Subrata Kumar Bala, Chief Superintendent of Rajshahi Central Jail, said the formalities were completed as per the order of the higher court. Kanepaksha had time to come to Karafat around 11pm. Shortly after the scheduled time, 14 people from both sides, including the bride, appeared on the ship. The marriage report will be sent to court soon.
He added that the Hindu marriage registrar took the signatures of the bride and groom around 12:30 pm. The priest recited the marriage mantra. The marriage ceremony is completed in Malabadal. The jail gave the bride a Katan sari.
It is known that Dilip, son of Sitanath of Godagari upazila of Rajshahi, fell in love with his cousin (Victim). Later this relationship became a physical affair. The victim became pregnant. But Dilip did not agree to marry her. Although there was an arbitration meeting, no results came.
On October 23, 2011, a medical examination revealed that the girl was pregnant. On October 25, a rape case was registered at the Godagari Police Station. The court sentenced Dilip to life imprisonment and fined him 50,000 taka on June 12, 2012. The verdict said the victim was 14 years old when she was raped.
While in jail, Dilip applied for bail in Superior Court. During the hearing, his lawyer said the victim was here. They agreed to marry. If they get bail, they will marry. In this situation, the court ordered the superintendent of the prison to organize Karafat’s wedding.
