The High Court has ordered Karafat to arrange the marriage between the convict and the victim, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in a rape case in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi. The court ordered the Rajshahi jail keeper.

According to the details of the case, Dilip Khalko, son of Sitanath Khalko of Godagari upazila of Rajshahi had an affair with his cousin (Victim). Based on this, Dilip Khalko had sexual relations with the victim on February 25, 2011, promising to marry her. The victim became pregnant. But since then, Dilip Khalko has not agreed to marry. There was a delay in the arbitration of the matter. As there was no arbitration meeting in the end, the victim appeared at the local Islami Bank Hospital on October 23 of that year and had her pregnancy checked. He then appeared at the Godagari Police Station on October 25 and filed a lawsuit against Dilip Khalko for rape.
Charges were brought against the defendants in the case on January 29, 2012 at the Court for the Suppression of Abuse of Women and Children in Rajshahi. Following the trial, the court sentenced Dilip Khalko to life imprisonment and fined him 50,000 taka on June 12 of that year. The verdict said the victim was 14 years old when she was raped.
Dilip has been incarcerated since the 2012 verdict. In this situation, Dilip requested bail in Superior Court. During the hearing on the application Thursday, his attorney said the victim is here. They agreed to marry. If they get bail, they will marry. In this situation, the High Court ordered the prison authorities to arrange the marriage to Karafat.
