The information came to light in the PBI investigation almost two years after Kanta’s murder. After getting up as a tourist in the hotel with her husband and one of his accomplices Kanta, they killed her at some point and wrapped her body in polyethylene and left it under the bed and the two murderers escaped. When the hotel authorities found out, they put Kanta’s body in a sack in the dark of the night and floated it in the sea to avoid problems. The incident is an attempt by the residential hotel authorities to cover up the incident and the killers have been out of their reach for so long, but the details of the PBI investigation have come to light.

Then on September 21, 2016, Ashulia’s couple first arrived at Nur International residential hotel in Shariatpur and stayed overnight. There, Shahidul’s cousin Mamun joined them. The next day, they came from Shariatpur to Kuakata and stayed in room B-1 at the Al-Medina residential hotel. At one point, Kanta was strangled and his body wrapped in polyethylene and left under the bed.

Mahipur police were informed when the hotel authorities became suspicious, as they did not get any response after seeing the lock hanging in the hotel room on the afternoon of September 23. The police came and confiscated Kanta’s used clothing, but did not notice the body under the bed.

Two days later, when the stench left the room, the hotel manager, Amir, and the hotel boy, Saiful, noticed the body and reported it to the hotel owner, Delwar. Delwar, his younger brother Anwar, manager Amir and the boy Saiful decided to hide the body after destroying the evidence.

According to the plan, around 11pm, Delwar and Anwar Kuakata packed their bags and brought them to the Lembuchar area on the west side of the beach. The two brothers returned to the hotel after floating the body in the sea. After that, they did not open their mouths anywhere else on this subject.

About a year after the incident, the Narsingdi Abuse Suppression of Women and Children Court filed a case against Marjia Kanta’s father, Sohrab Hossain Ratan, on January 31, 2019, killing her husband Shahidul Islam Sagar and five members. of his family.

The court took notice of the case and ordered the Belabo police station in Narsingdi to investigate. Subsequently, the PBI took over the investigation of the case by order of the court. After the arrest of the accused husband Shahidul Islam Sagar, she received water during the investigation. Later, another accomplice, Mamato Bhai Mamun, was captured by the PBI on September 1 of this year.

According to Mamun, PBI raided the Al-Madinah residential hotel in Kuakata on Thursday and arrested the hotel owner, Doloar, and his younger brother Anwar, and the hotel manager and the boy, Marzia Kanta, for confessing to the disappearance. The PBI then took the four from Kuakata to Narsingdi.

PBI held a press conference at its Narsingdi office on Saturday afternoon highlighting the detailed progress of the investigation into the case. The detainees have confessed to the murder and disappearance of the body, said the investigator of the case, PBI inspector Narsingdi. Moniruzzaman said those arrested must be turned over to court.

Mahipur OC Police said. Moniruzzaman said Hotel Alamdina informed police that the hotel’s occupants had left some of their used clothing without paying the rent. Later, the police confiscated the used clothing and stored it at the police station.
