The court ordered to block YouTube content and the Facebook account of expatriate journalist Konak Sarwar in connection with the broadcast of an interview with the president of the PLD, retired Colonel Oli Ahmed Bir Bikram.

Today Tuesday, Justice. Khasruzzaman and Justicia. Mahmud Hasan Talukder’s high court approved the order. The court approved the order after a preliminary hearing on the writ petition filed by Supreme Court attorney Barrister Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed Asif, alleging distortion of history.

Attorney Shah Manjurul Haque appeared for the writ petition. On August 18, journalist Kanak Sarwar interviewed the president of the PLD, Oli Ahmed, on the YouTube channel. The court also ordered the closure of controversial content posted by Kanak Sarwar on YouTube.

The court asked the secretary of the Ministry of the Interior and the president of the BTRC to implement the directive.

Journalist Kanak Sarwar promoted the anti-national content on his own YouTube channel. Therefore, on November 18, an appeal was filed with the Superior Court as an appeal. The court issued the order after hearing the writ petition.
