The Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Anisul Haque, has expressed his deep sorrow at the death of the former Minister of State for Textiles and MP Akhm Jahangir Hossain.

In a message of condolence today, the Minister asked for the forgiveness of the deceased soul and conveyed his deepest condolences to the grieving relatives.

In his message of condolence, the minister said that the contribution of Akhm Jahangir Hossain in establishing the ideology of Bangabandhu in various movements and struggles in the country is unforgettable. His death created a vacuum in the country’s political arena.

Akhm Jahangir was elected Member of Parliament for the Patuakhali-3 (Galachipa-Dashmina) constituency in 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2014 with the nomination of the Awami League. When Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina first formed the government in 1996, she became Minister of State for Textiles in 1996.

It is worth mentioning that prominent politician Akhm Jahangir Hossain (8) died this afternoon while undergoing treatment at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the capital (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun).
