Judge Barrett could be Trump’s trump card

This is not the last case before the Supreme Court on the electoral issue. There are already several lower court cases pending in the states regarding the date and vote counting process, some of which could go to the Supreme Court. There is no doubt that the case of the November 3 presidential election can be taken to the Supreme Court. Democrats fear that the conservative majority may turn against them. In recent years, the “suffrage law” has been weakened in many ways by the decisions of conservative judges. It was with the intervention of these judges that George W. Bush was elected president in 2000 before all the votes were counted. The repetition of that same event is not an unreasonable thought.

In addition to protecting its interests on the electoral issue, the Republican leadership hopes to obtain a vote from Judge Barrett to repeal the right to abortion and the health insurance program known as Obamacare. The Supreme Court must rule on Obamacare in the second week of November. The ruling in the case, brought in response to a Republican appeal from Texas, could overturn the entire Obamacare law. As a result, large numbers of Americans can lose their health insurance.

Not only Trump, but Republican senators who are in danger of re-election will breathe a sigh of relief when Democrats hastily finalize Barrett’s appointment just one week before the election, despite strong protests from Democrats. Conservatives need to control the Senate more than the White House. Senate Leader Mitch McConnell and Senator Lindsay Graham, who have faced stiff competition in the fight for the vote, hope they can easily cross the voting line as a reward for Barrett’s appointment.

There is no doubt that the Democrats will use this moment for their own political needs. They are trying to portray Barrett’s appointment as an attack on women’s rights and Obamacare. Women voters will play the most important role in the upcoming elections. These two questions are very important to them. If disgruntled voters actually vote for Democrats in the expected number, not only the White House but the Senate can change hands as well.
