Judge Ashraful Kamal from the Superior Court Division of the Supreme Court came to court by bicycle. He entered the field by bike on Sunday (December 13) morning. He was accompanied by the lawyers for the Supreme Court, Barrister Imtiaz Farooq and Mahfuz bin Yusuf.
The lawyers welcomed the judge when he came to court by bicycle. Lawyer M Jamiul Haque Faisal told Jago News in this regard: ‘Judge Ashraful Kamal came to the High Court by bicycle. He promised, kept talking. He called on the government through the Attorney General to introduce separate bike lanes on the highway and announced that he would come to court by bicycle.
In early November 5, he made the announcement at the opening of a bicycle shed on the south side of the Supreme Court Bar Building.
Judge Ashraful Kamal said that the bicycle is an ecological vehicle. It does not consume oil. I want to go to court by bike myself. I’m trying to buy a bike and get to court soon from home. We can come from time to time, what is the problem.
“It will save the government’s fuel cost and the environment will be better,” he said. “When we go to court with so many cars from home, there is a traffic jam.” Which is deadly to handle.
In light of the current situation, the bicycle is a safe vehicle, he said, adding that it will reduce diabetes, improve health, reduce disease and reduce hypertension. So why can’t we do it? The judge also said that cycling for women is safer and more independent.
Addressing the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Attorney General, AM Amin Uddin, he said: “You have informed the government about the creation of separate lanes for bicycles. There are lanes of this type all over the world.
Bangladesh follows what the Supreme Court does. People take it seriously. Therefore, he urged all the people of the bar to continue with this cycling initiative.
Then the Supreme Court Lawyers Cycling Club was created. Judge Ashraful Kamal is the advisor to the cycling club. President Imtiaz Farooq, Secretary Mahfuz bin Yusuf and Deputy Secretary M Jamiul Haque Faisal.
