The viral video shows a man in jeans and a coat handcuffed. Two eyes tied with a towel. A man sitting in a chair across from him says: ‘What happened to you? Who hits? I did not kill. And I am not a man from Togo. I would have stayed at the police station if it were people from Togo.
Arafat, leader of the Juba League, uploaded the video to Facebook on Monday. He is the man who blindfolded Arafat’s claim. And the person sitting in the chair behind the camera is Inspector Ahaduzzaman. Arafat said the police arrested him on the night of January 5 in the Kaulibera area.
He further stated: ‘I was handcuffed and beaten by four policemen in the car. I was handed over to the DB police in the Pukuria area. Then they blindfolded me. There are many ways to intimidate. Later they tied me to the back of the chair. After hitting me on both legs with a baton, then-district police officer Ahaduzzaman arrived.
Arafat claims to have uploaded a video of the incident. However, he did not say who made the video or where he got it from.
However, police officer Ahaduzzaman told the media that he did not torture her blindfolded. He said that the defendant was found in that condition after being turned over to the Bhanga DB police. I received it the same way he was blindfolded in the video. I don’t know about beatings. He later claimed that the Juba League leader was questioned after opening his eyes.
