Juba League Leader Arrested for Vandalizing Bagha Jatin Sculpture

Kushtia: Police arrested Anichur Rahman, president of the Kaya Union Juba League, for questioning him about the vandalism of a Bagha Jatin sculpture at the Kaya College facility in Kushtia’s Kumarkhali upazila.

A case has been filed at the Kumarkhali Police Station under the Special Powers Act in relation to vandalism.

Police arrested four people for questioning.

Kumarkhali Police Officer-in-Charge (CO), Mojibur Rahman, confirmed the arrest of four people and the case on Friday (December 16) evening.

Lawyer Nizamul Haque Chunu, president of the Kaya Bagha Jatin Degree College, Harun Aur Rashid, director, and Khalilur Rahman, night watchman, and Anichur Rahman, president of the Kaya Union Juba League were arrested.

The officer in charge of the Kumarkhali (OC) police, Mojibur Rahman, said that the police went to the scene around 11 am after receiving information from locals. Subsequently, four people were taken to the police station for questioning. A case has been filed under the Special Powers Act in this regard. The CO also said that four people were being questioned.
