Anisur’s first wife, Rebecca Sultana Moni, filed a written complaint with the Rajshahi District Police Superintendent on October 25. The victim Moni Gaibandha is the daughter of the late Mohammad Ali from the Katihara area of northern Ghagoa in Ruparbazar de Sadar.
When the incident became known, SI Anisur demanded a dowry of Tk 15 lakh from the first wife on the condition that he leave his second wife. The housewife did not agree and threatened to kill him.
Anisur has received more than five lakh rupees from his first wife from 2015 to September 2020, including tuition fees, police work, training and the purchase of new bicycles.
In a written complaint, Rebecca Sultana Moni said that Anisur was a friend of her brother. In addition, Anisur was the teacher at the coaching center where she was a student. He agreed to the marriage proposal. They were married on September 29, 2015 with the consent of the two families.
Six lakh 50 lakhs were set for the marriage. The marriage was registered according to the Islamic Shariah explaining the gold nose ring worth 11,000 tak in cash. They then live as husband and wife.
She became pregnant in 2016. At that time, Anisur forced her to have an abortion. He collapsed physically and mentally. He was also taken to the hospital at that time. She adapted everything with her husband’s family in mind. Still, Moni lived happily until 2017.
The housewife also said that in 2016, her husband Anisur passed the physical, written and oral examinations in the police. After completing his training, he joined the Belkuchi Police Station in Sirajganj on February 4, 2019 as SI. At that time he kept the marriage information secret.
According to Monir, Anisur informed him that he would remarry with the permission of the police department. Until then, the matter must be kept secret. She kept her word to her husband. But the husband gradually reduced communication with various excuses. He also said that even after five years of marriage, he is waiting for the department’s permission until 2021.
In a written complaint, Moni mentioned that October 29 was her fifth wedding anniversary. Following instructions from Anisur, he organized the ceremony at his home that day. Her police husband was supposed to be present there. But on the pretext of being busy, Anishur said the next day’s ceremony was postponed. Although the program was organized the next day, he gave a mobile number informing about the transfer.
Moni and her family members were embarrassed by her husband’s actions. The next day, Moni went to her father-in-law’s house with her relatives and reported the incident. At that time, Anisur called his older brother on the phone and promised to take him home within the next 15 days. But within a week, Moni found out about her husband’s second marriage through an acquaintance in Peru.
Anisur is known to have married a second time to Brishti Khatun (22), daughter of Kulchum Khatun, a reserved woman member of Pangasi Union Parishad from Raiganj Police Station in Sirajganj. Anisur married the Dhaka University student six months ago after falling in love.
Brishti’s mother, Kulchum Khatun, has admitted the matter. He said his family arranged for his daughter to marry an SI six months ago. At that time the girl opposed the marriage. Later, SI informed Anshur about the marriage.
They secretly had a ‘judicial marriage’ in Dhaka six months ago. Later he asked about Anisur’s family. But his family did not mention the first marriage. A few days ago, he and his daughter found out about the matter.
When asked about the allegations, SI Anisur Rahman said that the allegations from previous marriages were unfounded. And I don’t want to talk about it in the media.
Meanwhile, Rajshahi (Godagari) Deputy Superintendent of Police Abdur Razzak has investigated the allegations against SI Anisur Rahman. He said the matter is under investigation. I will report at the end of the investigation.
