A leader of the Student Rights Council of Jagannath University (JU) has been accused of insulting Islam. Most of Jabir’s students are angry that he insulted Islam on Facebook.

The name of the accused leader is Tithi Sarkar. She is a student in the zoology department at JOB. Tithi Sarkar is the secretary of the JOB branch office of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council and the convener of the JOB branch of the World Hindu Wrestling Council.

The Tithi government is known to have been making vulgar comments about Islam through various posts and comments on Facebook for a long time. Screenshots of those posts and comments went viral on various university Facebook groups. Many students condemned the organization for involving Tithi in the Student Rights Council. Again, many are demanding his permanent expulsion from the university.

Tithi Sarkar has been granted a temporary waiver from the Bangladesh Student Rights Council for these activities. He has been asked to show cause within seven days instead of knowing why he will not be permanently expelled. This was stated in a press release signed by Raisul Islam Nayan, Chairman of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council and Abu Bakar Khan, Secretary General.

In this regard, the director of Jagannath University, Mostafa Kamal, said: “I have received several screenshots of that student. I am reviewing them. We will officially take action when the university opens next Tuesday.
