The Awami League candidate lawyer Zillur Rahman Jewel won the by-elections for the post of mayor of Chandpur Township. He garnered 34,625 votes for the ship symbol. Earlier, for the first time in the Chandpur municipal elections, voting for EVM and the party symbol started at 9am.
