A large number of activists and supporters of the organization came to Baitul Mukarram to participate in the janaza at 9 am on Monday.
The road on the east side of Gulistan Zero Point and the north gate of Baitul Mukarram were closed due to overcrowding.
Mufti Jabed Qasemi, Qasemi’s youngest son, led the janaza at 9:20 am.
Amir Junaid Babungari from Hefazat-e-Islam said before the janaza: “He had a lot to do with me. How much he lost after losing it …
“He did not compromise with injustice. He never gave in to threats. “
Kasemi died at United Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
Kasemi, 65, was admitted to the hospital Dec. 1 with a cold and shortness of breath. As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Thursday night. He died there on Sunday.
Born on January 10, 1945, Nur Hussain Qasemi was the General Secretary of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh, Vice Chairman of Befaq and Co-Chairman of the Al-Hague Board.
Since the establishment of Hefazat-e-Islam, he has been the chairman of the Dhaka Metropolitan Branch of the Qaumi Madrasa-based organization. When the new central committee was formed on November 15, it was assigned the responsibility of the general secretary.
Kasemi will be buried at the Jamia Sobhania Madrasa in the Turag Thana area of Uttara, his organization said.
