The mystery of the death of Ulfat Ara Tinni, a former Shailkupar EB student in Jhenaidah, has yet to be revealed. However, Tinni’s relatives and neighbors have claimed that the incident was related to the family and the fight and dispute between her half-sister Munni and her ex-husband Jamirul. Tinni’s sister and mother did not respond to the Bengali Tribune. However, his older brother-in-law blamed Jamirul for the incident. He claimed that Jamirul hid at his home on suspicion. Although he admitted, he was not present at the scene. However, Jamirul’s family has claimed that neither Jamirul nor any of the accused were responsible for Tinni’s death. In addition to searching for the accused, police authorities are reviewing the autopsy report. However, after visiting Tinni’s home all day on Sunday and talking to many people in the vicinity, it was unclear whether she had confessed to the murder or had committed suicide. It is only known that the Jamiruls came to his house in groups that day and then there was much discussion and dispute with Munni and his mother. At that moment, Tinni shouted that the value of the family was being respected in this dispute.
Last Thursday (October 1) night, Tinni’s mother and sister-in-law found her body hanging on the second floor of their home. Although her autopsy was performed at Kushtia Sadar Hospital on Friday, the report has yet to be released.
On Sunday, it became known in the area around Tinni’s house that Tinni was a very calm and happy girl. Everyone in the area loved him and loved him very much. Her focus was on her studies.
Several people in the area, who did not want to be named, said the girl was doing much better. She was a student at the Islamic University in the 2012-13 academic year. She was also preparing for the BCS exam after completing her Honors Master of Accounting and Information Systems. The subject of her death also seemed mysterious to them.
Many in the area said that Tinni was very upset about her maternal sister’s marriage dispute. You may have chosen the path of death because of this incident. However, they could not answer the question of why a young woman who has passed college would choose the path of suicide without solving the problem. However, they did not learn of any external attack or torture against Tinni that day or of any cry from Tinni.
It is known first-hand that they are three sisters. They have no siblings. The freedom fighter father Yusuf Ali died a year ago. They lived in their two-story house in the Sheikhpara area, near the Islamic University. His home in the village is in the village of Yogipara in the same upazila. Among the three sisters, Tinni, who had just graduated from Islamic University, was not married. Her older sister was married a long time ago. In 2008, while studying for HSC, Munir married her half brother Jamirul based on the views of both families. However, Munni honestly disagreed. Munni and Jamirul used to argue about various topics. They also have a 6-year-old daughter named Junaira at home.
A member of Jamirul’s family claimed that in 2016, Jamirul’s father-in-law, Yusuf Ali, fell ill and went to bed. Since the eldest son-in-law was away and there were no other male members in Tinni’s household, Jamirul cared for his father-in-law for three years, from seeing a doctor to taking him to the bathroom. However, the dispute and the monomalinya between Jamirul and Munni did not cease. Jamirul’s father-in-law died on March 5, 2019. On August 2 of the same year, Munni sent a letter of divorce to Jamirul. But Jamirul did not accept it. Instead, Jamirul and his family tried to find out why. However, Munni announced it as the final decision. His mother supported him.
According to a source, Tinni’s sister Munni had been trying to infiltrate Jamirul’s family and put pressure on his ex-wife for the past year. Munni was furious about this. Munni also filed a complaint with the local Tribeni Union Parishad alleging that Jamirul was harassing him on the way. Jamirul did not attend the meeting when the matter was arbitrated by the Parishad Union. However, the union council sent a letter threatening to take action against Jamirul if he heard something like this again. Even after that, he used to follow Munni all the time. He was going to take her home again without accepting the divorce. Meanwhile, Jamirul was very angry at the news that Munni liked a young man named Raju recently. He is not willing to accept that his ex-wife can make any decisions. He wanted to give back to his wife even if he was looking at his son. However, Munni disagreed with this.
Jamirul’s family claimed that younger sister Tinni Mej could not accept Munni’s decision. Having a young son in her sister’s family, she wanted the two of them to reconcile. He tried a couple of times. And since Jamirul is Fupato’s brother, Tinni had good communication with that family. Jamirul also used to call Tinni to talk to Munni. Sometimes Tinni would talk to her sister Munni on her mobile phone.
Jamirul’s family further claimed that Munni and her mother used to scold Tinni at different times for having contact with them. However, Munni and her mother could not be reached for comment.
A member of Jamirul’s family said, on condition of anonymity, that a man named Raju Ahmed arrived at Tinni’s home on the day of the incident last Thursday night. Jamirul thinks that Raju has married or wants to marry his ex-wife Munni. So upon hearing this news, Jamirul ran to the place. However, they did not find Raju. After that, Jamirul summoned Raju to come. Meanwhile, Munir and his ex-wife began arguing with Jamirul about the incident and why he needed to provide an explanation. Keep arguing over and over. Tinni became very angry and upset. These incidents and screams are destroying respect in society, Tinni continues to say what outsiders will think. Then he went up to his room.
Some of the neighbors said, on condition of anonymity, that when Jamirul arrived at the house with some of his men on Thursday night, there was a lot of noise in the house. One side was outside the house and Munni and her mother were arguing in an angry voice from inside the house. During this time, Tinni screamed several times and told both parties to stop. At one point, Tinni was heard saying, ‘By doing all of this, you have ruined my dignity in society. How do I get out? What will people say? I will not keep this life.
When the Jamiruls returned after the screaming, his sister and mother rescued him by hanging from a two-story house around 12 p.m. He died on the way to Kushtia Sadar Hospital with the help of the locals. His autopsy was completed at the hospital the next day.
However, in this case, a young woman who has passed college may commit suicide as if no one could accept it. Questions remain as to whether there is any other incident behind this. One of the neighbors also asked if Raju, who had come to the house, had really gone out and if he had caused any problems in the house. However, Raju Ahmed could not be reached. Meanwhile, Abul Kalam Azad, senior regional sales executive for Lafs Gas Company, the older brother of the late Tinni, has made serious accusations against the above description. He said: ‘I was not in that house on the day of the incident. But he has heard everything from his family. ‘
She states: “She learned that several people, including the ex-husband of her older sister-in-law (Munni), Jamirul, arrived at Tinni’s house around 8pm. The lower door was open at the time. They got up and left in a hurry. At one point, Jamirul was under the bed in Tinni’s room. Later, at 10 o’clock at night, others came to Tinni’s house again and harassed her and broke the glass on the stairs of the house and fled.
Then he thought, ‘Jamirul was hiding under the bed. Others were out at the time. He was originally looking to attack Munni. When the sound came from under the bed, maybe Tinni saw Jamirul and at one point Jamirul left, but the others who were with him closed the back door and brutally tortured him. Being a victim of this torture, Tinni regrets how he will show his face in society. Due to such suffering, hatred, loss of self-esteem, he may have chosen the path of suicide. When the door was broken and he was rescued and taken to Kushtia, the doctor pronounced him dead.
However, when asked how Jamirul got under the bed during the argument and why Tinni didn’t ask him to come out even after seeing him, he was unable to say anything. When asked why Tinni would be tortured if he had problems with another sister, he said: “I was not at the scene.” I can not say it. But that’s my idea.
When he went to the front of Tinni’s house to find out the answer to the whole mess, he wanted to talk to his sister Munni. After talking to someone else on his mobile phone for a long time, he went to the second floor of the house saying ‘there is no room to talk’.
When Tinni’s mother wanted to speak to Halima Begum, they told her that she was ill and could not speak. As there were no other male members in the family, it was not possible to know anyone else’s statement.
Meanwhile, Ayub Hossain, an elderly merchant from the village of Sheikhpara, and several others, including Rafiul Islam, a young man from the same area, spoke in favor of Jamirul Islam. They said that Jamirul was an educated child. He passed his bachelor’s degree and took a dental course at Zest Pharmacy. If someone made a negative comment about his wife, he would get mad at that person. Pray five times regularly. We don’t think you can torture and kill your sister-in-law.
Meanwhile, Tribeni Union Parishad president Zahurul Haque Khan said Tinni’s older sister Munni had divorced her husband Jamirul a few days ago. After the divorce, Jamirul used to harass her on the streets. Munni filed a complaint with the Union Parishad in this regard. I realize and give notice to both parties. But none of the Jamirul arrived on the day of judgment. However, I warned them in a letter that legal action would be taken against them if they were disturbed on the roads.
The investigating officer of the case, Shailkupa OC Police Station (Investigation) Mahasin Hossain said that a case has been registered at the Shailkupa Police Station under the Promotion of Suicide and Abuse of Women and Children Act on behalf of 8 people and 5 -6 more unidentified people. Tinni’s mother, Halima Begum, filed the case as a plaintiff. After the case, the police arrested Amirul, Nazrul, Labib and Tanmoy, sons of Kanur Uddin from Sheikhpara village. The main defendant in the Jamirul case is on the run.
He added that the case is under investigation. When the autopsy report arrives, it will be known whether Tinni was murdered or committed suicide.
