Amir de Jamaat-e-Islami in the sabotage case filed at the Motijheel police station. The court has brought charges against 18 people, including Shafiqur Rahman. Dhaka’s additional chief, Metropolitan Mohammad Asaduzzaman Noor, issued the order on Tuesday.
With this began the trial in this case. The judge has set March 22 of next year as the date for the testimony.
Among those charged in the case are former Jamaat-e-Islami MP Hamidur Rahman Azad, former Islami Chhatra President Shibir Fakhruddin Manik, South Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka secretary. Shafiqul Islam Masood, Dr. Nesar Uddin, President of the Workers’ Welfare Federation, Professor Mojibur Rahman, Advertising Secretary of Chhatra Shibir, Abu Saleh. Yahya, Dr. Samiul Haque Farooqi, Dr. Rokon Jamaat. TM Zafar Ullah, Moinul Islam, former BUET President Chhatra Shibir, Zahirul Islam, Secretary, Touhidul Islam, KIM Iqbal, Abu Hussain and Hosne Mubarak.
According to the record, Motijheel (SI) Police Deputy Inspector Rafiqul Hasan filed a lawsuit against 63 people for allegedly blowing up a cocktail party in a police vehicle and setting fire to a BRTC bus of an anti-government procession in Motijheel in the capital. Subsequently, on April 30, 2014, the Motijheel SI Khandaker Zahid Ali Police Station filed a charge sheet with the Main Metropolitan Magistrates Court of Dhaka.
