The wives of Jacob Blake, a black man who was shot by white police officers in Kenosa, Wisconsin, have been released. The lawyer for the injured man said that members of the police who were in Jacob’s safety at the hospital had been removed and a previous arrest warrant against him had been withdrawn. The British media BBC reported this news.
Kenosa police claim Jacob already has a warrant. He was handcuffed in the hospital bed according to the law.
A black man named Jacob Blake was seriously injured in a police shooting in Kenosa, Wisconsin, on Sunday night (August 23). The police shot him several times in the back. He was later admitted to the hospital. Thousands took to the streets to protest. They protested by burning tires on the road. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, taking hundreds of protesters away by truck. A curfew was imposed. Two people were killed and one injured in a shooting Tuesday night, the third day of protests. Police arrested a 16-year-old white teenager in connection with the shooting.
Jacob was handcuffed at the hospital and released after his family expressed outrage. After seeing him at the hospital, the father told reporters: “I’m sorry to see you in handcuffs at the hospital.” It can’t go anywhere. However, why should he be handcuffed to the bed?
On Friday, the injured man’s attorney, Patrick Cafferty, said Jacob’s handcuffs had been removed. Previous arrest warrants have also been revoked. However, he did not elaborate.
