Jahangirnagar University (JU): Adjunct Professor of Government and Politics at Jahangirnagar University for sexually harassing a student in his department. Sanwar Siraj has been expelled by the university administration.
Rahima Kaniz, acting registrar for the university, told banglanews on Wednesday (Feb 18).
He said that Sanwar Siraj, an assistant professor in the government and politics department, was fired from the university’s regular union on Tuesday (February 18). The university union made the decision according to the investigation report of the cell against sexual harassment, since the accusations against him were proven.
Rahima Kaniz further said that it was not possible to reach the Sanwar Siraj ordering office because the office was closed. You will be informed about the matter by office order the next business day. Also, you won’t be able to enjoy other benefits of college.
Earlier, on September 19, 2019, the victim filed a written complaint against Sanwar Siraj with the department chairman. The department head sent the indictment to the university’s sexual harassment cell for investigation.
