Meteorologists say that the clouds in the sky in different parts of the country come mainly from the distant Arabian Sea. A deep depression has formed there. It is heading towards the coast of Yemen. But out of that depression a piece of cloud entered Bangladesh through the Bay of Bengal across the Indian Ocean. It also has the dry air of Pubali from the Arabian Sea. On the other hand, the cool north wind has entered Bangladesh through Nepal and the Himalayas through Panchagarh. The confluence of steamy Pubali winds and dry Himel winds in the north has created instability in the country’s atmosphere.
Meteorologists believe that strong winds have been created in different parts of the country due to the collision of the north wind and the Pubali wind. Meteorologists think that the wind speed will be 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and the rain will not exceed two or three millimeters.
Abdul Mannan, a meteorologist at the Department of Meteorology, told Prothom Alo yesterday: “It is normal for the cold winds from Pubali and the north to meet at the beginning of winter. Also, our forecast was that this winter’s rains would be a bit more than normal. As a result, the light rain and gusts of wind are gone. However, the temperature may start to drop as of Sunday.
Yesterday, the lowest temperature in the country was 615.6 degrees Celsius in Tentulia, Panchagarh. The minimum temperature in the capital was slightly above 21 degrees Celsius.
