The recommendation was made today at a CPD virtual media briefing. The press conference was titled “The Effectiveness of Government Actions and the Food and Income Security of Marginal People.” The CPD says that with the incentive of such people, the 6 million to 5 million people in the country will move to the social security program.
The CPD has calculated that these days, if people grant financial incentives to the khayi, it will go from Tk 20,122 crore to Tk 25,122 crore.
CPD believes that providing financial incentives will not only benefit the poorest people, but will increase demand and return to the economy.
CPD special member Mostafizur Rahman believes that inflation will not have much effect on direct financial assistance. Because it is temporarily recommended temporarily.
CPD Executive Director Fahmida Khatun said that if money is given to the poor, there will be a return to demand for industries, commerce and manufacturing. What will help the economy to recover. This incentive must be given urgently to save the poor for the next two to three months.
