Israel’s Supreme Court has ordered the elimination of Jewish settlements in the West Bank that have been occupied by Palestinians.

Israel’s Supreme Court struck down a 2016 ruling by a district court on Thursday in response to an appeal from aggrieved Palestinians. Al Jazeera News.

The Palestinians want the West Bank as part of their future state, the report says. 3 million Palestinians live there. Approximately 4.5 million Israelis have settled among them.

It is known that when the district court granted legal rights to settlers on Palestinian lands, they did not know that these lands were shown as Palestinian on the original map. There are 40 families who settled on the top of a hill in the Jordan Valley 20 years ago, most of them living on land owned by Palestinians.

They claim that they have received approval from the Israeli authorities to live there. The Supreme Court, however, said that the Israeli authorities had done the work unfairly and that they had ignored the fair ownership of the Palestinians.

By the way, after relations with the United Arab Emirates, the Israeli Prime Minister announced the suspension of the settlement occupation of his previously planned West Bank. At the same time, however, he told Israeli media that construction of the settlement had been suspended, but not canceled. Israel’s Supreme Court rendered the verdict on Thursday.
