Israel launches missile strike in Damascus and Syria The attacker is alleged to have struck shortly after noon in front of a gathering of protesters. The attack took place on Sunday night (February 26) in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, according to Deutsche Welle.

Syria claims there were no casualties in the attack, most of the missiles were destroyed before impacting.

An Israeli military spokesman declined to comment. But Isal’s government agency Cannes said army officers sat down for a conversation Sunday night. They spoke of the Iranian attack on an Israeli ship in the Gulf of Oman. The Israeli defense minister said he believed Iran had attacked his freighter. Israel now attacks almost every week to prevent Iran’s occupation of Syria.

The Syrian state news agency SANA reported: “Israel fires missiles from the occupied Golan Heights in Damascus. Syria’s air defense system has destroyed most of the missiles. There are no reports of casualties. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights with The UK headquarters said the missiles were fired south of Damascus, which is the base of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah.

Israel claims that Iranian forces have no right to remain in Syria. Israel is active in preventing Iran from exerting any influence there. According to Western intelligence sources, Israel is waging a shadow war against Iran. Since the 2011 civil war, Israel has carried out multiple attacks in Syria against pro-Iranian and Hezbollah groups. A few days ago, the United States also targeted pro-Iranian militias on the Syria-Iraq border.
