Own report – Ishant Sharma became the second fast bowler to play 100 Tests for India. He accomplished this feat when he pitched first in the third pink ball event at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
Not only the second fastest bowler, but also the fourth bowler in Indian cricket history. Legendary fast pitcher and former World Cup winning India captain Kapil Dev became India’s first fast pitcher. Ishant is the 11th cricketer to play 100 Tests for India. Before the game, President Ramnath Kovind and the Union Minister of the Interior, Amit Shah, paid him special tributes.

Before Ishant, bowlers Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev, and Harbhajan Singh played 100 tests for India. Anil Kumble played 132 events, Kapil Dev 131 and Harbhajan 103 events for India.
British captain Joe Root decided to hit after winning the toss in the third test. England were out 112 in the first innings. Ishant took the first window of the day. Akshar Patel also broke the backbone of British hitting with 6 wickets.
