Irfan and his bodyguard have been in preventive detention for five days in two cases

Wasif Ahmed Khan alleged that he was riding home on a motorcycle with his wife the night before. A car with the MP sticker hit his motorcycle from behind in front of Labaid Hospital in Dhanmondi. Although Wasif showed up, he got out of the car, abused someone and left with death threats. When the car stopped at the Kalabagan bus stop sign, Wasif arrived on a motorcycle, knocked on the car window, introduced himself, and wanted to speak. The people inside the car beat him repeatedly without saying a word. He learns that Irfan Selim, the son of Haji Selim, a white Punjabi who attacked him and his wife. Apart from this, he also mentioned the names of three more people in the statement. They are AB Siddique Dipu, Zahid and Mizanur Rahman. All four defendants in the case have been arrested.

On October 26, the RAB raided the home of Irfan’s father, ruling party deputy Haji Selim, at Bara Katra in Old Dhaka after beating a naval officer. At the time, a mobile RAB court sentenced Irfan to one year in prison for drug possession and six months in prison for illegal possession of walkie-talkies. Irfan’s bodyguard, Zahidul, was sentenced by a mobile court to six months for carrying a walkie-talkie.

In addition, the RAB filed four cases against Irfan and Jahidul for recovering weapons and drugs from their homes. The cases were registered at the Chawkbazar police station in the capital.

Irfan has been suspended from the post of District Councilor for the 30th District of Dhaka South City Corporation on charges of moral turpitude and misconduct.
