Many local talents in India suffer from having teams in the IPL. Even if the team gets a place in the XI. Many stars of the world also have to fail at the last minute. Seeing the demand, the market and the supply of enough players, the 10-team IPL has long been a concern. This time it’s going to come true.

The annual meeting of the Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) in Ahmedabad approved the 10-team IPL on Thursday. However, due to time constraints, it is not being implemented now. In other words, the 2021 IPL will be with 8 teams.

Two more teams will be added starting in 2022. Before that, of course, the IPL was with 10 teams. 10 teams played in the 2011 edition. 9 teams played in the 2012 and 2013 IPL. However, all the other teams played in all the matches.

The number of teams is increasing. BCCI’s broadcasting revenues are also increasing.

Cricket at the Olympics was also discussed at the BCCI meeting. The ICC is trying to keep cricket going into the 2026 Olympics. The world’s most influential board will want to know in more detail how the ICC will do it.

The meeting also discussed the venue for the T20 2021 World Cup. All World Cup matches can be played in that city in India.
